We have multiple stacked 2930-F switches.

If one switch crashes, the switch sets the alert level to "Warning".

My team has asked if there is a way we can configure the switch, so that if a stack looses a member switch,, it will notify our syslog server as it being a "Critical" event rather than the lower severity of "Warning"

Is that possible or do I need to manipulate my syslog server ?

I am afraid severity levels of Syslog messages are predefined and can't be changed. If your Syslog server allows it, make it generating alarm on receiving that specific message.
