Anyone who have cracked up WL310, WL410 and WL215 may first have been surprised to find out that it is really some PCMCIA adapter with the WL110 PCCard NIC and of course the appropiate hardware for AP/Routers.

However many has properly also wondered if you just could swap the WL110 out with something newer, e.g. a 802.11g card. So has anyone tried? Or will the software/driver conflict with the capabilites of a new cards newer functions?

You would need to change the embedded system image also...the image also support and has the driver for the 110 card. The two most likely OSes are VxWorks or Linux, I don't know which one these APs use...

Well I know the WL310 can be modded to actually run like a linux/BSD machine, but capacity of the WL310 isn't big so you have to remote boot the OS.

But thx for reply, your answer told me there is some greater work to it.
